About us

Ayla & Amanda

From a young age, we were pretty sure Ayla would grow up to work with animals. Now she is in high school where they are asking what career direction she will go and working with animals and birds is really the only thing she can imagine for herself, so far. Ayla has helped Mom foster dogs and volunteer with cats. She's been catching critters since she was about 3, has raised chickens, rode horses, and loved everything from hermit crabs to dogs to birds. She's always had patience, knows how to approach animals, always knew to ask permission before petting a strange dog. She respects boundaries and understands temperments. She's a great pet-sitter!

I (Amanda) am often referred to as "Aunt Amanda" by my many furry "neices and nephews". My fur-babies are often very excited to see Aunt Amanda come around. They know they will get the best under-the-collar and butt scratches around. Although I grew up with cats, my first chihuahua changed my life back in 2003 and I've been a pretty crazy dog lady ever since. I like to think of myself as a bit of a dog whisperer. I also love all animals much like Ayla.

My specialty and biggest concern while working in a local dog boarding facility was calming the overly sad and anxious dogs who really did not want to be there and missed their family terribly. By the end of a weekend or week, those dogs would be so happy and relieved to see a familiar face. They almost forgot they were sad! We want to keep your animals happy and comfortable and want to recreate what it means to be boarded.  We want to make a cozy and happy and loving environment that pets are happy to come to.
